SEO Needs Assessment
An SEO needs assessment is an analysis of the company goals for the website. This is a crucial first step because many times a website has been constructed without much thought as to why it exists aside from the fact that everyone else has one.
The website must have at least one objective, whether it is to collect new leads or update customers with new information. Without a proper understanding of what the goals are, an SEO expert can always increase visitors to the website, but will these visitors be useful to the business?
After determining the primary objective of the website, the second needs analysis will be a cost-benefit analysis.
This is a basic ROI analysis to determine how many more website visitors/leads/sales will it take to pay back the cost of the optimization.
Lastly, the overall site analysis will focus on the website structure and content. Sometimes a website structure is so badly built that an entire redesign of the website should be performed before any optimization is attemted.
